Contest Rules - Deadline for submissions: June 25, 2022

Eligibility for all categories:

Open to all. Beginner or Published Authors and artist
Original unpublished work
Only unpublished work is eligible for this competition and entrants must check off the declaration(s) on the online submission form submit a waiver with each entry that certifies that their entry (or entries) is their own, original unpublished/unperformed work. Art, Short Story poetry.
Previous publication is considered to include on or in a newspaper, newsletter, magazine, anthology, chapbook, book, website, electronic magazine, personal blog, Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook

Note: Even if the print run or circulation of the print publication where the work has previously appeared is small, this is still considered previous publication. No work that has been excerpted elsewhere is eligible for submission; nor is a work that has been revised since its original publication.

Judging (Art, Short story and poetry categories)
Judging is anonymous. Entrant’s name and contact details must appear on the submission cover page but not on any entry [ Art, short story or poem[s]).

All entries will initially be judged by preliminary round judges, who will select the semi-finalists. The winning entries will be chosen by judges. All Judges decisions are final.

I give permission to the Elmvale Sci-Fi Fantasy Street Party to publish my story or poem in an anthology that will be sold to the public. I will not receive any royalties or monies from the sale of the aforementioned anthology. I authorize the distribution of the content, in its entirety or in part, through print, electronic, and other formats, for public access and promotion. I also acknowledge that I have read all the rules and regulations and agree to abide by them. Prose (short story)
Number of entries: One entry per author. This will be checked. Same entrant will be disqualified.
Length: 2,500 words and the word count will be adhered to rigorously. (Title included)
Format: Print entries must be typed in English, double-spaced and in Arial or Calibri Font, at 12pt.
Theme: Submissions must be of Science Fiction or Fantasy related theme, but not be derivative of a pop culture creations of the same. Must be original!

Contest Prize Money $100.00

Poetry
Number of entries: A maximum of three (2) poems (any style or form) per author. To ensure the security of the competition, entries will be monitored to determine whether or not entrants have entered more than once. Subsequent entries by the same entrant will be disqualified.
Length: Each poem may be no more than 60 lines and the line count will be adhered to rigorously.
Format: Print entries must be typed in English.
The title of each poem must appear on the first page of each entry (i.e., poem) but, to ensure that judging of the entries is blind, the author’s name must not appear anywhere on the text.

Theme: Submissions must be of Science Fiction or Fantasy related theme, but not be derivative of a pop culture creations of the same. Must be original!
